What is Audio Lounge?
Audio Lounge is a native macOS music player for people who own and care about a local music collection. It combines library management with faithful Hi-Res playback.
Where does Audio Lounge store my music?
Audio Lounge leaves music files in their existing locations on your Mac, external drives, or mounted network storage. It does not require a cloud upload.
Does Audio Lounge require an account or subscription?
No Audio Lounge account is required. Full playback is free for libraries up to 50 albums and 500 tracks. A one-time in-app purchase unlocks unlimited playback; there is no subscription.
Does Audio Lounge support bit-perfect playback?
Yes. Audio Lounge supports bit-perfect playback with Integer Direct and shows the source, decoding path, output device, and final sample rate.
Does Audio Lounge support DSD and SACD ISO?
Yes. Audio Lounge supports DSF, DFF including DST, SACD ISO, DoP output for compatible DSD-capable DACs, and high-quality DSD-to-PCM conversion.
Which PCM and compressed formats are supported?
Audio Lounge supports FLAC, ALAC, WAV, AIFF, APE, WavPack, AAC, MP3, and external CUE sheets.
Does Audio Lounge support gapless playback?
Yes. Audio Lounge provides gapless playback across compatible tracks, queue preloading, responsive seeking, and de-click handling.
Can Audio Lounge manage a large library?
Yes. Scanning, browsing, searching, filtering, favorites, and library management remain available for libraries of any size.
Does Audio Lounge collect personal data?
The App Store listing states that Audio Lounge does not collect data. Library indexes and preferences needed by the app are stored locally on the Mac.
What version of macOS is required?
Audio Lounge requires macOS 15.6 or later.
